I got up this morning and turned on my computer to find that my new monitor quit working. I took it back to Best Buy where I got it and they replaced it immediately without any hassles. Penny was happy about this because she got two runs today. One going and another on the way back. My computer is now up and running again.

San Luis Obispo County reported eight new cases of COVID-19 today, bringing the county’s total to 299 confirmed cases. This is the first reported update since Friday.
County officials indicate that five people are hospitalized, including three patients who are in the ICU. Twenty-five people are recovering at home and 268 people have recovered. The county has had one death attributed to COVID-19.
“We are happy that we have not seen a huge spike from events thus far including travel to our area and rallies held,” said county health officer, Dr. Penny Borenstein.
Paso Robles remains the city within San Luis Obispo County that has the greatest number of cases, at 122. When asked why this is, Dr. Borenstein said it has to do with the Hispanic migrant farm-worker population. She said the health department is reaching out to employers of migrant workers to encourage testing and clarifying that there are resources to support them to make sure they have safe quarantine housing and will not lose their jobs.
Free coronavirus tests are currently available in Grover Beach and San Luis Obispo. Tests will also be available on Wednesday and Thursday, June 10-11, at the ECHO parking lot in Atascadero. Appointments are required at all locations. To make an appointment go to the county website.
Health officials report that a total of 12,482 coronavirus tests have been conducted so far in San Luis Obispo County.
Starting this week, the county will give one briefing per week and the briefing for this week will be on Friday June 12.

Once again liberal politicians are trying to attack Christian churches and weaken the First Amendment. They continue to call evil good and good evil.
The Maryland pastor who made national news when he took to the pulpit and publicly tore up a cease-and-desist letter issued to him by the local government for having in-person services as he proclaimed, “Newsflash: Pharoah doesn’t get to dictate to God’s people how they worship their God!” has issued a fiery response to Baltimore County Health Department’s insistence that they pay a large fine for violating stay-at-home orders.
Calvary Baptist Church in Dundalk, MD, led by pastor Stacey Shifletts has been in a dispute with Baltimore county for several weeks over the church not shutting down during the pandemic. The church had reopened their church for services before they were officially allowed to do so by the government, as per their biblical convictions and standing behind the first amendment of the US Constitution.
As a result of their convictions, the church received the cease-and-desist letter for their May 17th service a few weeks later, informing that the Baltimore County Department of Permits was fining the church $500 for having “unsafe structures” due to having more than 10 people in their building, DESPITE HAVING a 600-seat auditorium and despite by being given the go-ahead by Governor Larry Hogan to resume at 50% capacity.
“What’s really disturbing is that our church was the safest place that I have been to during this entire coronavirus shutdown,” said Pastor Shifletts. “We’d listed our policies and procedures when we reopened on our church website, we informed the authorities of that. We invited them to come, to see for themselves, no one did. No one came and inspected. How you can be fined for an inspection that was never conducted is beyond me.”
The church recounted other policies they had in place to keep the place safe – policies few other places were performing. A few policies in place include having ushers opening the doors with gloves and masks so they would not have to be touched, asking congregants to wear masks, and limiting the washrooms to only two people and cleaning them after each use.
They further covered water fountains with plastic, removed the psalm books from the racks, didn’t pass offering plates, took the temperature of each congregant as they entered the building, had hand sanitizer stationed through, shut down Sunday school, children’s ministries, choir practice, and the nursery. They had the building cleaned after every single service according to CDC guidelines and sanitized multiple times a week, and yet after all that, they still received a fine for having “unsafe structures.”
“This is bogus. We will not stand for this and we will not go along with this. We will contest this. This is unfair. This is unjust. It’s is an abuse of power, it’s governmental overreach, we’re being bullied, and I don’t like it.”
Pastor Shiflett says that the church has no intention to pay the fine and plans to challenge it to the highest levels.

As the girlfriend of George Floyd called for calm in Minneapolis after a third night of protests saw businesses torched and looted, conservative commentator Candace Owens blasted the leftist media for attempting to incite “a race war.”
‘Waking up this morning to see Minneapolis on fire would be something that would devastate (George) Floyd,’ Floyd’s girlfriend said. / YouTube
Floyd would be “devastated” if he saw what was occurring in the city he loved, Courteney Ross, who was with Floyd for the last three years, told the Star Tribune.
“I am heartbroken. Waking up this morning to see Minneapolis on fire would be something that would devastate Floyd.”
“He loved the city. He came here [from Houston] and stayed here for the people and the opportunities… Floyd was a gentle giant. He was about love and about peace,” she added.
Ross said she “understood the frustration” but that she wants people “to protest in a peaceful way.”
The Minnesota riots are being fueled by the media and “out of town people who are likely on the payroll of leftist anarchist groups,” Owens said. “I believe leftist anarchy groups are using the death of #GeorgeFloyd to blame MN riots on angry black people.”
“Forget Hydroxychloroquine or Bill Gates’ vaccines! Turns out the REAL cure to coronavirus is a media-manufactured race war!” Owens tweeted, adding, “The only cure to media-induced panic is more media-induced panic! WE ARE SAVED!”
Owens noted in another tweet: “So glad the #Coronavirus scamdemic was cancelled to accommodate the Left’s nationwide anarchist riots. People taking their kids to parks and/or going to work to support their families? GRANDMA KILLERS! Rioters looting across the nation? People that need to be heard.”
The city’s national guard was called in on Thursday as protests turned increasingly violent, reports said. Thousands of people took to the streets, while several shops, including a Target and CVS, were looted.
On Monday, video footage of a white police officer kneeling on Floyd’s neck for around eight minutes while Floyd pleaded, “I can’t breathe. Don’t kill me,” circulated rapidly on social media. Floyd was confirmed dead shortly afterward, and the four officers involved in the incident were fired.
Americans across the country are demanding accountability for the officers.
Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey said in a press conference early on Friday: “There is a lot of pain and anger right now in our city. What we have seen over the past several few hours and the past couple of nights in terms of looting is unacceptable. Our communities cannot and will not tolerate it. These are community institutions that we need.”
“We are doing everything we can to keep the peace,” he added.
“The death of George Floyd should be a catalyst for Americans to unite and recommit ourselves to our founding principles which protect the liberty of all Americans,” The Hayride’s Matt Howerton wrote on May 27.
As Thomas Jefferson said: “When the government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.”

Bloody Chicago recorded 18 murders on May 31, making it the city’s deadliest day in 60 years.
The dubious milestone was reached on a day Chicago was roiled by another round of protests and looting following the Memorial Day death of George Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis.
The 18 deaths tallied by the University of Chicago Crime Lab made May 31, 2020 the single-most violent day in six decades, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Monday. The Crime Lab numbers go back only to 1961.
On May 29 and May 30, there were seven murders. In a city with an international reputation for crime, the 25 murders on those three days made for the most violent weekend in Chicago’s modern history, according to the paper.
“We’ve never seen anything like it, at all,” the crime lab’s senior research director, Max Kapustin, told the newspaper. “I don’t even know how to put it into context. It’s beyond anything that we’ve ever seen before.”
Chicago’s next most violent day was Aug. 4, 1991, when 13 murders were recorded.
“The level of activity experienced over the last week has been unprecedented and the Department is actively investigating multiple incidents across the city and working to determine the motives in these cases,” Chicago Police spokesman Thomas Ahern told the Sun-Times.
He said the department was “actively working to seek justice for all the residents impacted, especially those who have been killed or injured by these senseless acts of violence.”
Those killed on May 31 include Keishanay Bolden, an 18-year-old student at Western Illinois University studying law enforcement and justice. She wanted to be a corrections officer.
She was fatally shot during an argument in the Englewood neighborhood where she grew up, the paper reported.
Among those paying tribute to Bolden on the WIU website was Rebekah Buchanan, an English professor, who said “Keishanay always had a smile on her face and a contagious laugh. Not only was she fun to have in class, she was dedicated to learning and her community. This is tragic.”
Another 18-year-old student was also killed that day.
Police said Lazarra Daniels, a student at DRW College Prep in Lawndale, was shot to death.
Principal Tony Sutton broke the news of her death to Daniels’ classmates in a social media post. He said her death was “an incalculable loss for her family and one that will pain those who loved Lazarra for a long time.”
Angelo Bronson, a 36-year-old father of two young children, was gunned down in a drive-by shooting.
He lived in Washington and was spending the weekend in Chicago visiting family, the paper reported.
“Just about the last person I could have thought this would happen to was Angelo,” his longtime friend Ali Evans said, according to the paper. “The man was so calm and quick to laugh, too. I just can’t believe we’re talking about him in the past tense.”
Just imagen how much higher the total would have been if the police were disbanded or defunded. How without a police department would the families of the slain find any sort of justice?

With the start of summer birds and other animals are becoming more active. Besides the birds I also saw 2 California King Snakes and a Jack Rabbit.
